- I'm looking for software (freeware) that will
- help me calculate scattering of acoustical waves
- by a given complex geometry. I want to approximate
- time dependent pressure distributions arising
- say from a plain sound wave incident on a coffee
- cup.
- It'll have to be some kind of PDE solver
- which enabels one to feed it with a grid on which
- the 3d wave equation with positon-dependent phase
- velocity: 1/v(r)\nabla^2 u = d^2 u/dt^2 is sol-
- ved. Also certain boundary conditions will have
- to be specified. For instance: if you want to
- simulate an infinitly large medium (open air),the
- mesh points on the boundery of the grid must sat-
- isfy a PDE wich encorporates them being coupeled
- to a mached impendance.
-
- Also some graphical interface for visualisation
- of the result would be useful.
-
-
- Hope somebody out there knows something,
- I welcom all useful links or tips: mail me.
-
- thanks and greetings
